The New Normal: Why Content and Distribution Should Be Separate
This entry on The New Normal blog may be a couple of months old, but I just came across it (Entropy: Why Content And Distribution Should Be Separate). The argument is simple: content companies that aren't dependent on control over distribution for their profits are, in the long run, superior to "content" companies that are dependent on a particular distribution model. I agree with all of this, of course, though I think we need to keep gatekeepers in mind.
