Felten on the Copyright Office's Annual Report
Ed Felten takes a look at some of the suspect rhetoric the Copyright Office uses in their Annual Report for 2004 (Register of Copyrights Misunderstands Copyright):
[T]he implication here is that the law already allows copyright owners to overreach, but the Register of Copyrights hopes that they don't do so. In other words, it's up to the copyright owners to decide what the future of copyright should be.
I haven't gotten around to reading the report because I usually just get all ticked off when I read stuff from the Copyright Office.
